Thing - A spacey set from the Boston scene of the 70s -- heavy on electric elements, but with some great acoustic bits as well! The group almost have a freer take on the Miles Davis electric approach -- one that's not as full-on, and possibly a bit more spiritual overall -- especially on the alto, soprano sax, and flute work from group leader Arnold Cheatham! Other instrumentation features trumpet, electric piano, guitar, bass, drums, and percussion -- and there's a relatively freeform feel to the song composition, but the music has a highly rhythmic quality as well.
